The school was founded in 1952 by the church of Christ. It began operating on the property of Mr. George who was a miner. A little later, transferred to the Dutch Reformed church. After a few years the school switched hands again and went under the responsibility of the Roman Catholic Church. Since the school continued to exist within the mining premises it was finally handed over to Bikita Minerals (Pvt)Limited who is current responsible authority In 1965 the school opened its first standard 3 which led to the further opening of standard 4 in 1967.It was then established as a full range primary school in 1970.It has grown to a double stream school. The school is electrified and has a piped water. The school is 70km east Masvingo town and about 3km north of the Masvingo-Mutare highway. The school was originally built for the children of mine employees, but now it enrolls pupils from surrounding villages and those in A1 and A2 farming area
